Our mission

Jewish growth is a perpetual process that each student, emerging from his or her unique Jewish background, must develop at his or her own pace. We are committed to offering guidance and opportunities at each step of a student’s personal Jewish journey.

Through relevant classes, thought-provoking discussions, transformative trips and social events, our goal is to inspire a life-long love affair with Jewish learning and inspired living- all in a relaxed environment. To do so, we encourage the development of a vibrant, tolerant campus community in which everyone is welcomed and valued.

Our Team

Rabbi Moshe and Faigy Trepp

Hi! I’m Rabbi Trepp! I’m known for my openness in tackling and discussing difficult and sometimes misunderstood or taboo subjects in my well-attended learning fellowships. The bulk of my time is spent going from one coffee shop to another, meeting and studying one-on-one. Faigy’s favorite subject to discuss with students is women’s issues within Judaism. We welcome countless students to our home for weekly Shabbat meals, and before people know it they are part of the Trepp extended family.

Hi! I’m Rabbi Rubin! What you can expect from me is a listening ear, somebody you’ll love to chill with and relevant, practical Torah. As for Yaffa, from one-on-one learning to deep conversations to cooking with students to hosting the party, she connects with all who cross her path. So whether you’re looking for some timeless wisdom, delectable food or just a little bit of love, here’s an address that will not disappoint.

Kiana Brett

Hi! I’m Kiana! I joined Olami Texas as the alumni coordinator. I graduated from Concordia University with a BA in Communications in 2020. During my undergrad, I was very active in Jewish student life in Montreal. Since graduating, I’ve continued to work in the Jewish community for various Olami programs. In my free time, I enjoys hanging out with my dog and doing art. I am thrilled to join Olami Texas in being a part of the alumnus’ Jewish journey.

Elliot Friedland

Hi! I’m Elliot! I’m the Director of Development and Israel Programming at Olami Texas. I’m passionate about spreading learning and supporting Jewish institutions. I have five years of experience in inter-religious outreach and political analysis for a counter-extremism non-profit, and designed a counter-extremism program which is being rolled out nationally. Prior to moving to Austin I lived in Jerusalem, Israel after graduating from Oxford. I hold dual Israeli-British citizenship.
